• South Dakota National Guard Williamson Militiaman Award – 2006 – Presented to recognize an individual who exemplifies the spirit of the citizen-soldier through community leadership, support of the National Guard and the defense of our country.
• SD Rural Electric Association – 2005 - Recognition for Mike’s leadership and support of South Dakota’s electric cooperatives during the 2005 ice storm.
