Professional / Civic / Family BackgroundA lifelong Pierre resident, Mike is an owner in Fischer, Rounds & Associates, Inc., an insurance and real estate agency. His past civic leadership includes:
- Board President - Oahe YMCA
- Vice President - Home & School Association, St. Joseph School
- President - Pierre-Ft. Pierre Exchange Club
- Exalted Ruler - Pierre Elks Lodge
| Mike has a degree in Political Science from South Dakota State University. He and his wife, Jean, have four children: Chris and wife Lindsay, Brian, Carrie, and John. His family, including most of his 9 brothers and only sister, were heavily involved in his gubernatorial campaign as was his dad and stepmother (Don and Rosemary Rounds).
A licensed private pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings, Mike enjoys flying, hunting, racquetball, camping, boating, and spending time with his family.
Mike is a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Ducks Unlimited, and the Pierre Elks Lodge. |
